CQuest Administrator: Administration and Reporting
The CQuest Administration component is used for:
Managing Student Records
Establishing and Managing Test Properties and Options
Viewing Test and Response Results Data
Gererating Multi-Level and Time-Based Reports
Analyzing Test Statistics and Question Validity
The CQuest Launch Pad
|
Run All programs from One Application
The CQuest Launch Pad gives the Administrators and Question Authors a convenient way to launch any of the three CQuest Components (Question Editor, Administrator, and Student Test).
It also makes viewing CQuest documentation very convenient.
Your Customer Number is right on the screen so you don’t need to look it up when requesting free technical support.
There is also a utility for customizing printable certificates with your company information. Some CQuest customers like to have the student print a certificate after completing tests, as proof of regulatory or corporate compliance, or completion of a learning segment.

Student Management
The Student record content has been greatly expanded from prior versions of CQuest. There are several new organizational and demographic fields, upon which reports may be generated. This is where student logon IDs, passwords, organizational, and personal information is kept. In addition, there is a new feature called TestPath, which allows you to restrict access to test databases in one particular folder (examples below).
The Notes and Comments box will hold a large amount of text (more than 10 printed pages).
The organization information titles were made to be as generic as possible. For example, a school can use the Department item to mean a Grade, while a military unit may use Department to designate a Squadron, and a business organization may use Department to mean a department such as Accounting, or Human Resources.
The Administrator item may be used to designate a Supervisor, Teacher, Team Caption, etc.
See the section below on Multi-Level Reporting for examples of how these items may be used in Reports.
Each student is assigned a unique ID number and can be assigned all the propeties shown above.
Student Management: Data Folder Organization
|
Organizing Student Access
Test Questions are organized into test banks, or test databases. When a new or updated test database is ready to be made available to students, it is published to a test data directory (See CQuest DB – Question Editor for details).
The CQuest Administrator may establish as many test folders as needed, and may nest them to any level. There are three reasons to do this.
Keep tests organized and easy to find
Optionally restrict student access to particular test directories
Maintain different versions of the same databases in multiple folders
For example, there may be a regular test to be taken by all accountants on a regular basis; a test which contains 100 questions. Some customers like to have practice tests available to students. The same database may be put in a practice folder with the options to generate a real-time random test of 25 questions each time a practice test is taken. (Refer to Setting Test Options)

Test Reports:
Once a test has been taken, it is scored and results are immediately saved in the test history file. This gives you access to real-time reporting features to track and monitor student progress. In addition to the customizable reports described in this section, one can also look at the raw data.
Use the tabs below to view all the different types of test reports CQuest 6 offers.
Viewing Test Result Data
After a test has been completed, administrators may view the data recorded in a table. There is a Test record for every test taken, with corresponding Response data (which is the response given to every question).
The Test Data consists of
Student ID, and Name
Test Name
Date & Time the test was taken
The Type of test (exam or practice)
The Number of questions that were answered correctly
The test score
The test sequence number (first, second, third... time the test was taken)
The name of the test database (filename)
The StartTime, Stop Time, and Duration time of the test
The Testpath (the folder the test file resides in)
The Response Data is shown in the lower part of the picture below and includes:
The Correct Answer
The Response given, and whether or not it was correct
The "Answer" field contains the content of a text answer/fill in the blank type of question
The Question number as it appeared on the test (which may have been set up to scramble questions or randomly select questions)
The DBQ, which is a permanent, unique identifier of each question
Sorting: The raw data in these tables may be sorted on any column.
Grading Feature: The Grade feature allows you to manually change the grade on a response. For short answer questions, where the student types in an answer – the instructor gives a list of all acceptable answers to the grading program. If the instructor leaves out an acceptable answer, the grade on that question may be changed to "correct", and the test score is recomputed.
Student Category Reprots
|
Test Reports by Student Category:
This reports allows one to select one of the following categories as the main selection criteria:
Student ID
Adminisrator
Department
Ethnicity
Gender
Test Path
City
State
One may also limit the selection to a specific date range or choose to include all dates.
The report can be grouped by Student or by Test.

In this example, the test results for all students whose teacher is Joseph Renteria are Reported.

Student Test Reports
Student Test Reports are cusomizable and allow for users to select up to four fields to display in the report.
Sort fields to choose from include:
The screen below shows how users can select these options:
Some possible reports one can generate with this tool are:
All Students and All Tests
One Student and All Tests taken by that Student
One Test and all Students' test results
Any combination of the above

Statistical Reports
Make Data driven decisions about your education program with CQuest Reports. You will be able to see weak areas in training, or questions that in your database that may need to be evaluated. Computerized testing will enhance your training or educational programs to help you ensure you are meeting all the compliance and accountability issues your training may involve.

General Test Statistics
This report provides statistics on a test for a selected date range or all dates. One may want to compare test results month by month for a trend analysis, or compare tests by semesters, etc.
Statistics computed include:
Number of Times the test has been taken
Minimum, Maximum, and Average scores
Standard Deviation
Number of tests that were Passed and number Failed
Passing Score, and Pass Rate

Item Analysis: Question Analysis Report
The Question Analysis Report provides statistics about the responses to each question in any selected test.
The report can be used to verify question validity or weak areas in training, teaching or comprehension.
If a question is repeatedly missed by most students, it can show that one of the available responses is not worded properly or that the subject matter needs more attention.
The first question below, shows results for a Text Answer or fill in the blank question. The instructor listed the acceptable answers within brackets as Germany, Ireland, or Eire. All five students answered the question, and four of them answered correctly. “Number of No Responses” would indicate that the person did not attempt to answer the question.
The second question is multiple choice. Five students answered the question. Four answered it correctly with response “C”, while one answered incorrectly with response “D”.
A sample Question Analysis output is shown below:

Setting Test Options
As mentioned in the section on Test Folder Organization, multiple copies of a test may be placed in different folders, each having it’s own set of test options. Create, deploy and manage training and assessment in a secure, controlled environment that reduces the ability for cheating, while enhancing the testing experience using computerized testing.
Various test options may be set for each test database by a CQuest Administrator. There are three sections:
General Test Options: Set rules for Scoring and whether or not to allow Test Reviews and/or Print Test Reviews.
Practice Test Options: Display Correct Answer, Show Hints (contents of the Note field on the Question Editor)
Randomization Options:
Shuffle all the questions in a test. Randomly arrange all the questions in a test so they are in a different order for each student, or for each time a student takes a test.
Create a real-time randomized test from a selected number of questions from one test or across many tests. Each student will get a different set of questions, and question order. Also, each time a student takes a test, a different set of questions will be generated. This feature is particularly useful when a student is practicing for a large exam or certification test, where there are hundreds of questions. A shorter practice test may be set up for each time the student takes the test. A different set of questions will be presented each time, automatically.

Database Management
Database Utilities:
The utility for Test Database Management, allows one to copy test(s) from one databank to another, or create new databanks from existing ones.
The Back Up Files utility provides an easy means to copy question databases, student and history files to another location.
Use the Compress, Repair utility after a file has had many deletions (to eliminate unused space), or to repair a file if any file corruption occurs.
For organizations that use names or parts of names as a Student ID, the ID and all associated test and response data may need to be changed.
Organizations that have an existing list of Student IDs, passwords and names, may import that list into the Student data records, rather than entering each one individually.
